Coach Kennison has been coaching the past six years for town, travel, AAU, and tournament baseball. Kennison brings with him 3 town championships from East Hartford & Manchester, 3 Fall Ball championships, 8 division titles, a 5th Nationally ranked team in 2007, a Triple Crown Championship, a 3rd place National Tournament finish at Dan Duquette Sports Academy, 3 runner-up finishes at ‘War at the Shore’ Tournaments, a Silver Medal at the Nutmeg Games 2005, and an overall winning percentage .860 (234-36-2 ).
While coaching the last several years Kennison noticed many young players were not being taught baseball mechanics properly. His challenge was to break some of those bad habits and give proper instruction at an early age to prepare players while they reach a higher level.
Coach Bill Kennison has been well tutored by two of the more prestigious coaches in Connecticut, Bob Hetu and Bill Holowaty. Kennison also brings what he calls the 3D’s of baseball, Dedication, Desire, and Determination for those he has been associated with. Most baseball players are not born great, they develop greatness through hard work and determination in the cages and on the field, dedication and respect for the game, and knows any goal that is desired can be reached.
Coach Kennison focuses mostly on hitting, defense, pitching, throwing, base running, getting in ‘baseball shape’ and honing the mental aspects of the game.
So if you have the determination and dedication and are willing to commit to developing and enhancing your skills, call Grand Slam today.
